Artist Statement
I am a fine artist featuring abstract/realism in wildlife paintings with a career spanning over five decades. I have masterfully bridged the gap between the structured world of commercial art and the boundless energy of contemporary wildlife painting. A graduate of Milwaukee Technical in 1976, I spent my formative years honing a meticulous eye as a commercial artist—a discipline that remains evident in the striking detail of their subjects today. Currently working daily from my studio, I strive to explore the tension between realism and spontaneity. My signature style features "wild abstract backgrounds" that serve as a high-energy stage for incredibly detailed animal portraiture. This juxtaposition captures the raw, unpredictable spirit of the natural world while honoring the anatomical integrity of the wildlife within it. While highly sought after for commissioned pet portraiture and expansive landscapes, I continue to evolve my practice, seeking new gallery partnerships to bring my unique vision of the wild to a broader audience.
